14 DAY TRIAL // It appears that Android fans living in the UK will be the first to get their hands on the highly anticipated Huawei Blaze and Vision Android smartphones.
Announced last month, both phones have been confirmed for a Q4 release in the UK, but no price tags or release dates have been disclosed until recently.
Fortunately, major retailer Phones 4u has issued an official statement announcing that the Huawei Blaze will hit shelves on September 30.
According to Phones 4u, Huawei Blaze will be priced from £99.95 (about $154 or 115 EUR) on PAYG (pay as you go) on a range of UK carriers.
It looks like the major retailer will have an “exclusive lead to market” on the Huawei Blaze. Phones 4u also secured distribution rights for the Huawei Vision smartphone, but no details about the handset's price or release date have been disclosed yet.
“The Huawei Blaze is one of a number of pay as you go exclusives we’ve secured for our customers in time for Christmas, ensuring we have a wide range of the latest technology across a broad range of colors and price points, offering something for everyone,” said Scott Hooton, Phones 4u Trading Director.
As expected, Huawei Blaze will be delivered with Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system on board, along with access to Android Market.
In addition, the phone features a 3.2-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, a 3.2-megapixel camera, 256 MB of RAM, 512 MB of ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 16GB).
“The Huawei Blaze is not only a great looking, high specification smartphone, powered by the latest Android system, and crammed with great features – it’s also affordably priced and will prove enormously popular with the UK youth market through 2011 and the Christmas pay as you go ‘gifting’ season,” added Hooton.
Huawei Blaze will be available in black, but additional white and pink covers will be included in the sales package.
In this regard, Phones 4u announced that it will be the only retailer to exclusively offer the interchangeable white cover.
