Regional U.S. carrier Cincinnati Bell has just added the 4G-enabled Huawei Ascend X smartphone to its lineup. The device is available for purchase for as low as $99.99 with a new two-year agreement, or $349.99 off-contract.

Furthermore, the handset is the subject of a BOGO (buy one, get one free) promotion, which means that customers who purchase an Ascend X with a new two-year agreement will receive another one for free.

Huawei Ascend X seems to be Ideos X6's copycat, as it features the same insides and they both look the same.

The smartphone is powered by a single core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, complemented by an Adreno 205 GPU (graphics processing unit).

Although the phone is said to run Android 2.2 platform, Huawei may upgrade the device's software in the near future, as Froyo is getting old really fast.

The Ascend X / Ideos X6 is Huawei's first 4G Android smartphone and offers users a theoretical download throughput of 14.4 Mbps and 5.76 Mbps HSUPA.

The phone comes with a large 4.1-inch capacitive multi-touch screen with 16 million colors, 480 x 800 pixels resolution, accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and proximity sensor for auto turn-off.

A 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and 720p HD video recording is also included on the back of the phone, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

Ascend X packs 2GB of internal memory, 512 MB RAM, 2 GB ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The device offers users all the necessary connectivity options such as: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot capability, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, built-in GPS and microUSB.

Huawei Ascend X is powered by a 1400 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 240 hours of standby time or up to 5 hours of talk time.
