Roughly two weeks from now, Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei is expected to make its next Android-powered flagship smartphone official, and some more info on the device is now available.

Courtesy of a tweet coming from infamous tipster @evleaks, we can now make a better idea of what the upcoming phone will have to offer to its users.

In all fairness, this is not the first time that details on the device leak online (it has received certification in China recently), though the aforementioned tweet comes as a confirmation of what to expect from Huawei next.

Supposedly called Huawei Ascend P7, the flagship smartphone was initially expected to go official during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, in February, but the Chinese vendor pushed it back without offering specific details on the matter.

However, the company has already sent out invitations to a press event set to take place on May 5, and rumor has it that Ascend P7 will finally make an official appearance there.

As far as the hardware specifications of this device are involved, we should see it released with a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, as well as with a 1.8GHz quad-core processor packed inside.

However, this won’t be one of the popular mobile CPUs that most vendors adopt these days, as Huawei has decided to go for its in-house Kirin 910T CPU, it seems.

Huawei Ascend P7 is also expected to arrive on shelves with 2GB of RAM inside, as well as with 16GB of internal memory. Moreover, it seems that it will also feature a microSD memory card slot, thus allowing users to add some more storage space to it.

On the back, the smartphone should sport a 13-megapixel camera, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, complemented by an 8MP front camera, which should be able to provide a great experience when it comes to making video calls or taking selfies.

Moreover, the handset is said to be powered by a 2500mAh battery and to feature a slim form factor, being only 7mm thin.

The usual set of connectivity capabilities will also be included in the device, such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB port, and a built-in GPS receiver. It should also land with the entire set of common sensors inside.

Huawei is expected to load Android 4.4.2 KitKat on top of Ascend P7, while being set to release it with the same looks as last year’s Ascend P6.
