Chinese company Huawei has silently released the high-end Ascend P6 Android smartphone in India. One of the sleekest handsets available on the market, Huawei Ascend P6 is now available for purchase for only Rs 28,490 outright, which is about $465 or €335.

Although Huawei has announced that the device will be launched in India for Rs 29,999 ($485/€350), most authorized resellers offer small discounts on the Ascend P6.

According to Unleashthephones, Huawei Ascend P6 is available at major retailers across the country. Unfortunately, Huawei has introduced the single-SIM version of Ascend P6 in India even though it’s a known fact that Indian customers prefer dual-SIM smartphones.

Huawei Ascend P6 ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system and Emotion UI out of the box, but we expect the Chinese company to offer an Android 4.3 upgrade soon.

On the inside, the Ascend P6 packs a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Huawei K3V2 processor, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and only 8GB of internal memory.

Huawei has also launched a 16GB variant of Ascend P6, but this one is not yet available in India. Nevertheless, users will be able to further expand storage up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

Another strong point of the Ascend P6 is the larger 4.7-inch IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720 x 1280 pixels) resolution, 312ppi (pixel density) and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

On the back, the smartphone boasts an enhanced 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, which can capture HD (720p) videos.

Last but not least, Huawei Ascend P6 is powered by a 2000 mAh Li-Polymer battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 415 hours of standby time (315 hours in 3G mode) or up to 28 hours of talk time (14.5 hours in 3G mode).
