The smartphone is available for $400 (€285) outright

One of the thinnest Android smartphones available on the market, Huawei Ascend P6 has just arrived at WIND Mobile. The Canadian carrier has a long-term partnership with the Chinese handset maker, which is one of the reasons the Ascend P6 is now available in Canada.

As MobileSyrup points out, Huawei Ascend P6 can now be purchased for only $400 (€285) off contract or $150 (€105) with a $40 (€28) plan. Customers can also pick this one up for free on the WINDtab with a $50 (€35) plan or $300 (€215) with a $30 (€21) plan.

Unfortunately, this doesn't seem such a good time for WIND Mobile and Huawei to launch the Ascend P6, given Google Nexus 5's recent release in Canada.

Also, if we take into consideration the fact that you can now purchase the Nexus 5 for just $100 (€70) more than Ascend P6's suggested retailer price, Google’s device would be the obvious choice.

The good news is that Nexus 5 is not yet available at WIND Mobile, but it will soon be released, so those who are looking for a high-end Android handset might have to wait a bit longer if they don't go for the Huawei Ascend P6.

Speaking of which, the Ascend P6 is not a bad device either. The smartphone ships with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box and packs a powerful 1.5 GHz quad-core Huawei K3V2 processor.

In addition, the Ascend P6 features 8GB of internal memory and 2GB of RAM. It also comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The device sports a 4.7-inch IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Last but not least, it boasts an 8-megapixel main camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
