Rumor has it that the LTE version of the Huawei Ascend P1, which was recently announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show, will be powered by a slightly larger battery.

Although the official press release mentions that the Ascend P1 will be delivered with a 1,670 mAh Li-Ion battery, the folks over at Blog of Mobile have learned that the LTE-enabled variant of the Ascent P1 packs a much better 2,000 mAh Li-Ion battery.

Simply dubbed Huawei Ascend P1 LTE, the smartphone features a slightly different design than the standard version which was unveiled last week at CES 2012.

Huawei launched two new Android high-end smartphones last week, the Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S, which is touted world’s thinnest Android phone available on the market, at only 6.68mm thickness.

However, the Huawei Ascend P1 (sans S) is a bit thicker at 7.69mm, though it comes with a smaller battery.

The Chinese handset manufacturer confirmed that Ascend P1 S featured a 1,800 mAh Li-Ion battery, whereas the Ascend P1 has a slightly smaller 1,670 mAh battery, as we already mentioned above.

The LTE-enabled Ascend P1 would be the third variant of this model, which comes with a different battery that should provide enough juice for the powerful LTE technology.

In addition, Huawei Ascend P1 LTE is equipped with a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm MSM8960 Snapdragon CPU, which is complemented by an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit.

The Ascend P1 LTE sports a brilliant 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (540 x 960 pixels resolution), an enhanced 8-megapixel camera, as well as a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video calls.

On the inside, the Ascend P1 LTE packs 4GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB or 64GB).
