A new 4G LTE smartphone has been approved for use in the United States, namely the Ascend P1 LTE from Huawei, one of the first smartphones to be released in the UK on EE’s new network.

The handset has been spotted at the FCC with support for the AT&T-friendly 700MHz LTE frequencies, as well as with AWS support, which usually suggests a release in Canada, as Engadget notes.

The smartphone might be launched in the US at T-Mobile as well, since it was approved with AWS 3G connectivity, in addition to support for 850MHz and 1,900MHz frequencies.

Unfortunately, the emergence of this device at the feds does not necessarily imply that it will actually be launched in the US, nor does it offer specific info on when we might see it available on shelves.
