The handset is available for purchase in black and white, priced at $299 (€221)

Today, Huawei has made the Huawei Ascend Mate2 4G LTE smartphone available for purchase in the United States, exclusively through its own online store, GetHuawei.com.

The new handset arrives in the country with high-end hardware capabilities, while featuring an affordable, highly appealing price tag, at only $299 (€221).

“This year, Huawei is ready to challenge the status quo by delivering premium experiences, well-made and well-priced devices in totally new way,” says Mr. Zhiqiang Xu, president of Huawei Device USA.

Huawei has also announced a special deal for the device, as all users who will purchase it through June 22 will also receive a SIM card with a free month of service, as well as a phone case included in the package.

“With the Ascend Mate2, you just pop your SIM card in and you are ready to go.No need to worry about contracts or restrictions. You get a 4G LTE-ready device right out of the box,” Zhiqiang Xu adds.

The 4G-capable Ascend Mate2 was made official at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January, with a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, and a 3900mAh lithium battery inside.

Moreover, the mobile phone features a large, 6.1-inch touchscreen display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3, along with a 13-megapixel rear camera with a 2.0 aperture. A 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling was also added to it.

The new Ascend Mate2 4G LTE runs under the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system, with the Emotion UI 2.0 Lite loaded on top. The phone is available in black and white flavors.
