Mobile phone carrier Vodafone UK has officially announced plans to add the large Huawei Ascend Mate smartphone to its offering before the end of July, so as to provide users with a great mobile experience while on the go.

The Android device comes with a 6.1-inch HD display, one of the largest on the market, while being powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon processor, paired with a 4050 mAh battery.

“The Ascend Mate could be tailor made for British consumers. Its huge HD screen is suitable for all seasons – bright for the summer and sensitive enough to work with gloves in the depths of winter,” Huawei Device UK Product Director James Powell said.

“As with all Huawei phones, the Ascend Mate makes breathtaking power, long-lasting battery life and stunning design more affordable than ever before.”

In addition to the 6.1-inch HD IPS+ LCD screen and said processor, the new mobile phone also arrives on shelves with an 8-megapixel photo snapper with HDR on the back, as well as with a front camera for making video calls.

Furthermore, it sports Dual MIC noise reduction technology, Dolby sound system and stereo recording capabilities, as well as Quick Power Control (QPC) and Automated Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) to maximize battery life.

“The Huawei Ascend Mate is big, bold and powerful, built for heavy-duty entertainment and communications, and yet it is also portable and elegant,” Huawei notes in a press release.

“Its front is almost all screen, which ensures you get maximum screen and viewing pleasure for minimal bulk. It is compact enough to slip easily into a jacket pocket, and its lightly rubberized back ensures its fits well in one hand.”

Huawei Ascend Mate lands on shelves with Google’s Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, complemented by Huawei’s own Emotion UI, for a personalized experience. Stay tuned for more info on the handset’s availability at Vodafone UK.
