Chinese handset maker Huawei has announced the immediate availability of two new mid-range smartphones in Taiwan, the Ascend G700 and G610.

UnwiredView reports that both smartphones are available for purchase worldwide via third-party retailers and prices are variable depending on the market. Android enthusiasts in Taiwan will have to come up with $330 (€245) and $230 (€170), respectively, to purchase the Ascend G700 or G610.

Both devices ship with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform out of the box and 5-inch displays. However, the former sports an HD (720p) display, whereas the latter features a simple qHD (540 x 960 pixels) touchscreen.

It is also worth mentioning that the G700 packs 2GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory and an 8-megapixel main camera, while the G610 comes with only 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a 5-megapixel rear-facing shutter.
