Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has been long rumored to plan the launch of its Ascend D2 smartphone at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week, and confirmation on the matter has already emerged.

The phone was spotted on a billboard at the Las Vegas Convention Center, although no other details on it have been provided.

Huawei’s press conference will take place today at 1PM Eastern Time, and the new mobile phone is expected to be unveiled there.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the smartphone is rumored to pack a 5-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution, quad-core 1.5GHz processor inside, a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 3,000 mAh battery to power them all.

However, no official confirmation on these specs has emerged so far, so stay tuned to learn all about it.
