NBC is getting ready to really shake things up in late-night programming

Over the weekend, rumors started making the rounds that NBC was getting ready to really shake things up in late-night programming, by axing Jay Leno and bringing in Jimmy Fallon as a replacement.

According to a new report in Page Six, network honchos are also thinking of a replacement for Fallon – and he might be none other than Howard Stern.

A more toned down, less foul-mouthed version of the Howard Stern we known from his radio show, that is.

“Sources close to the radio man tell The Post that Stern, in turn, is being ‘groomed’ by NBC as the new Fallon. Leno’s contract runs out on the Tonight Show in 2014, and he’s on the fast track out, despite his great ratings,” says the e-zine.

Meanwhile, Fallon’s spot would go to Stern since he’s been enjoying more exposure as of late, mostly because of his judging position on America’s Got Talent.
