How to Insert a Secure Form Mailer in Wordpress

If you want to be contacted, to list what visitors have to say about your blog, you have two possibilities: a contact form or a form mailer. The difference between them is that the form mailer will send the opinion to your email address and you don`t have to go to the blog to see the opinions of your visitors.

The solution for that is Secure Form Mailer which is

a plugin for Wordpress. Secure Form Mailer supports multiple instances, multiple recipients, multiple file attachments, optional auto reply feature. The most import feature of Secure Form Mailer is the image verification system that will protect you against bots. Another security function is the protection against email header injection.

The installation of Secure Form Mailer is very easy and intuitive. Download it from the official website, extract the folder from the archive to Wordpress plugin directory and activate the plugin from the administration panel. The next step is the configuration of the plugin. To make it run, first you will have to create a new Wordpress page and type in the trigger text: . The last step is to go to Options -> DDFM1 and complete the following fields: in Contact Page fill the full URL of your newly created contact page and in Recipients enter your email address. These are the most important changes you will have to do after the installation of the plugin.

After the installation and activation of the plugin we will have to make other changes. These will be made in Options/DDFM-Main. If you want to have more than one form mailer change the number of instances. For every instance created, you will see a new sub-panel under the options page. Example: DDFM1, DDFM2, etc. To use a particular instance on your page, use the trigger text followed by the instance number. Example:

Another useful feature is image verification and I advise you to enable it. For that you will need to have installed on the webserver GD Library. Change the background image color and the color of the image verification to fit with your theme. If the verification image is not displaying, you can try forcing the image type. For image type I recommend to use png.
