Samsung believes business users will benefit the most from using the feat

Samsung’s mobile devices aren’t a stranger to Multi Window, as the Korean tech giant was actually one of the first to truly offer multi-tasking abilities. And this particular capacity is one of the key features highlighted in the promotion of the new set of Galaxy TabPRO /NotePRO tablets.

Nevertheless, for those of you who are new to multi-tasking on a Samsung tablet, here’s how to do it. First of all, you’ll be needing to enable the Multi Window feat from the power settings menu, which is to be found in the notification panel.

Another way to get the same result is to go into main Settings and tap the on the Device tab to see the on/off toggle.

Unlike the Galaxy S4 or Galaxy Note 3 running Android 4.2.2, opening apps on the new Samsung slates with Android KitKat on board is a little different.

By placing your finger at the right-most part of the display and swiping to the left, a pop out menu displaying compatible apps should appear. This can be done from the Magazine UX interface or the standard Android screen.

Once the pop menu opens, users can either tap or drag the icon of the app they want to open. If you go for the first variant, apps will be opened as mini popups that are super imposed on other apps and can be resized to fit the user’s exact needs.

This way you can use more than two opened apps at a time. There’s also the option to minimize them via the little floating icon resembling the Facebook Chat Head, so it can be easily opened when needed form the any other app.

The other method of opening Multi Window apps is to drag the app icon (from the Multi Window pop out) onto to the main part of the screen. This will result in the applications being displayed in either full or half screen.

In case you don’t yet have a Multi Window app opened, the first one you will open will take up the whole screen. Then proceed to open the Multi Window pop out again and drag another app. The two apps will automatically appear either in top/bottom format (if you have the tablet in portrait mode) or right/left (if the tablet is in landscape mode).

With larger slates like the Galaxy TabPRO 12.2 and NotePRO 12.2, it is possible to open up to four different apps at a time, a handy functionality to have if you’re planning to get productive with the slate. Anyway, be sure to try this feat out in case you own one of Samsung’s new tablets.
