Just as I told you earlier today, Microsoft rolled out a new service for Internet Explorer 10 users that allows them to explore Everest with their browser.

In addition, the company has also released a video to showcase the new service, trying to demonstrate everyone that the so-called Everest: Rivers of Ice is completely optimized for the touch and can be accessed using any Windows 8 tablet out there. Including its own Surface RT, that is.

“Utilizing IE’s touch model, Everest: Rivers of Ice, also goes further by creating innovative and intuitive touch interactions like ‘draw and zoom.’ If you want to explore an area, a peak or basecamp on the mountain, you simply draw a circle around a piece of the photo and the site will automatically zoom to what you want to explore,” Microsoft explained.

It could take a while to load, but all these gigapixel panoramas indeed look great, so give the new service a try by clicking on this link.
