This is a simple guide that will teach you how to transfer music or video files between your PC and Verizon's Motorola DROID smartphone. In case you're an advanced user and know your way with the device, you might wanna skip this one

The whole process of file transfer does not require any additional drivers to be installed, as long as you're using the DROID as a mass storage device. It will only require an USB cable and a microSD memory card.

The first thing you need to do is to ensure that you have correctly inserted the microSD card into the slot and then simply connect the device to the computer using the USB cable.

From the home screen of your DROID phone, pull down the Notification bar (just at the top of the home screen). You can also press the Menu key of you smartphone and select Notifications instead.

Then select USB Connected, and then choose Mount. Right now your memory card is mounted and your PC is already listing it as a separate drive. You will notice in the My Computer folder a new drive called Removable Disk. Open this drive and create a music/video folder.

In case you want to transfer entire albums on your memory card, simply copy any artwork JPEG format files in the same folder as the music files, but rename the art file albumart.jpg.

If you'd like to put your files in order you are free to create more sub-folders and copy your albums in the newly created folders.

After you have finished transferring the files you can turn off the USB Storage mode by clicking on it. Disconnect the USB cable and you're done, you can play all the files from you memory card.
