There's no proper way to do this unless you use a free, little app called Xmarks

A lot of Mac users have chosen Chrome as their default browser. On iOS however, Google Chrome seems a bit slower than Safari. Also, there is no way to change the default browser on your iPhone so it's much easier to do everything in Safari.

One of the problems of running different browsers on the Mac and on iOS is syncing. If you would be a Safari user on the Mac, then syncing would be there by default, via iCloud. However, that doesn't really happen with Chrome. One of the problems that users with this setup encounter is bookmarks sync between the Mac and iOS.

We've found the solution via a Free add-on. Bear in mind that this actually works with Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox and Safari so you can sync all your bookmarks on all platforms and make sure they are also accessible online.

Introducing our old friend, Xmarks. They have been purchased by LastPass in the meantime so you can be sure that development is not left aside. The extension works as it is and there are no new features in need to be added anytime soon, so all the developers have to do is make sure that this add-on is compatible with the new OS X updates.

Xmarks works with Firefox 4.3.3 and up, Internet Explorer 1.3.9 (that would be a Windows XP version of IE), OS X 10.5 and above with Safari 4.5+ and Chrome 1.0.28.

The extension actually works as a multi-platform Chrome or iCloud sync. You can transfer your Bookmarks, Open Tabs, Profiles and you also get History Sync.

First things first. Download Xmarks and install it on your computer browsers.

Create a free account with them and make sure everything is uploaded in the Cloud from one browser. It doesn't hurt to have a back-up of all your Bookmarks so you don't lose anything in the process. After that, just install the extension on all the other browsers and Press the Sync button.

There is no Safari for extension, but you can install XMarks as a System Preferences Pane and you get all the functionality.

OK, so how do we take the bookmarks from Chrome for Mac to Safari for iOS. Well, it's pretty simple: once you have your Bookmarks (they are called Favorites) in Safari for Mac, they will automatically use iCloud to go to your iPhone.
