The Kindle Fire HDX might be a great device to entertainment, but its uses aren't limited only to that. Some of you might be aware that with the latest Fire operating system, the HDX allows native use of VPN for those who need to use the tablets to get work done securely.

If so far you haven’t been thinking of the Fire HDX as a device you can deploy for working purposes, knowing you can use VPN can change your perspective. VPN services are usually used by businesses that want to share files in a safe way among different computers on a network.

The files are virtually protected because they can only be accessible to those receiving permission through the VPN through Wi-Fi.

Since more and more business are encouraging employees to bring their own devices to work, providing VPN-compatible devices will prove crucial for manufacturers.

By following these few simple steps, outlined above, every owner of the Kindle Fire HDX will be able to use VPN on their device.

1. Access Settings – this is achieved by swiping down from the top of the Kindle Fire HDX screen 2. Choose the Wireless option from Settings 3. Look for the VPN option located between Bluetooth and Location Based Services 4. Choose “Add a VPN profile.”

This in turn will bring out the VNP window that asks you to fill in some information. You’ll need to ask your network administrator for the name of the VPN, server address and type of protocol it uses.

The info is crucial to setting up your VPN connection, but once you’re done you can turn your Kindle Fire HDX into a productive tablet.
