On its Support site Apple this week posted a straightforward guide for customers looking to set up their Apple TVs using an iOS device, like the iPhone or the iPad.

The Cupertino giant outlines that Apple TV software 6.0 or later enables users to set up their third-gen black box by transferring some stuff from an iDevice running iOS 7.

That stuff includes your Wi-Fi network and password, your precious iTunes Store account, and Language and region format preferences. Some system requirements are outlined. Nothing under iPhone 4s will do, just so you know.

After all the technicalities are laid out, Apple begins describing each step in great detail, complete with some handsome graphics. If you’re the type who likes to do things from the couch, I suggest you give Apple’s KB article HT5900 a glance.
