iFixit walks you through the steps of fixing your damaged smartphone

It’s Liberation Week at iFixit, everyone’s favorite iPhone repair shop. They’re giving away free iPhone Liberation Kits, and they’ve posted three thoughtful videos to show you how to repair your iPhone.

In case your phone’s battery has died out, or your Home button isn’t working anymore, the iPhone Liberation Kit from iFixit is all you need to pry open that pesky iPhone and get it repaired. That, and iFixit’s winning advice.

The company says you can order everything from opening tools to replacement parts straight from their store. Oh, and in case you’re wielding an iPhone with a shattered screen, they can help in that department too.

Apparently, taking your iPhone to Apple isn’t absolutely necessary for these three types of damage (dead battery, faulty Home button, shattered screen).

But, while iFixit does an awesome job at taking us through the motions of fixing our phones, I can’t help but think someone, somewhere will end up with an even more damaged device after prying it open.
