Reporting issues on Twitter is quite easy to do now

Twitter has made a promise and it’s doing its best to keep it as it is rolling out the new reporting system.

The company has been working on this feature for a few weeks now, since a very public scandal brought attention to the lack of options for those who want to report abuses on the network.

At first, the company implemented the report button on iOS, but it has now become available for Android and web users as well.

The entire process is quite simple and it doesn’t take long to file a complaint.

In order to report a tweet, you have to go to the More tag under a message and one of the available options is Report, along with “Share via email” and “Embed Tweet.” This feature is only available if you’re logged into your account.

A form appears on the screen and you can choose from several types of reports.

For instance, “Spam” is for tweets or accounts that can be considered as such, “Abusive” is for messages that are in violation of the Twitter rules, while “Compromised” is to bring attention to accounts that may not be controlled by their original owner.

When it comes to reporting abuse, it’s possible to choose among several topics, such as “Impersonation,” “Trademarks,” “Harassment,” “Report self harm,” and “Report an ad.”

A list of additional options appears once any of these are selected, which helps Twitter scan through the problems appearing on the network and filter the abuse reports into various categories so it can prioritize its responses and resources to solving an issue.

While this may seem as something that will take forever, it actually simply takes only a few seconds, while helping you figure out exactly why you want to report a certain issue.
