Apple provides iTunes customers with the necessary means to remove a review if they feel the text doesn’t make an item justice. Here’s how, straight from the Mac maker’s mouth.

According to a newly posted / updated Support document on Apple’s site, “As an iTunes Store customer, you can write reviews on items that you have purchased or are familiar with, such as albums, movies, or Apps. From time to time you may desire to remove a review you have written.”

For example, you may want to delete a bad review once the developer of an app has fixed all the problems you were complaining about. You’re now so proud of your choice to download that app that you feel like you want to recommend it to others.

You can post a positive review now, so you may want to delete the old one.

“Follow these simple steps to remove a review that you have written,” says Apple.

1. Sign in to the iTunes Store. 2. From the Store menu, chose View My Account. 3. In the Settings section, click Manage next to "Reviews and Ratings." 4. Click Remove next to the review you would like to remove.

Cupertino asks customers to note that reviews selected for removal will not disappear on the spot, and the company may choose to retain the original text internally.

“The review that you remove will not immediately disappear. Once removed, the text from the review will no longer be visible but may be retained in Apple's systems indefinitely,” reads the document.

As an iTunes Store customer, you should be aware that you can only review an item that you’ve bought.

Apple previously allowed anyone with an Apple ID to sign in and blab about the content on the venue in whatever manner they wanted.

Now, if you have something bad to say about an app or its developer, you have to buy it (wink).
