The controversial Facebook Timeline makes the subject of another hoax

A hoax message has been seen flooding Facebook walls, advising members to perform some ludicrous operations in order to prevent posts from appearing in the controversial “timeline” and to limit hackers.

“Hover over my name above. In a few seconds you’ll see a box that says 'Subscribed.' Hover over that, then go to 'Comments and Likes' and 'Games' and un-click it,” reads the phony message provided by Facecrooks.

“That will stop my posts and yours to me from showing up on the side bar(ticker) for everyone to see, but MOST IMPORTANTLY it LIMITS HACKERS from invading our profiles.”

The steps described above won’t do any good in protecting the privacy of Facebook users, not to mention securing them from malicious operations launched by hackers.

Users who want to protect their privacy can carefully look around the privacy and sharing settings and make sure that only friends can see their activities and content.
