There are a few general misconceptions regarding the best practices for iPad battery charging and users are entitled to know them now, more than ever, following claims that Apple’s new iPad has some battery issues.

It couldn’t be more false, according to Jesse Hollington writing a handy battery charging guide over at iLounge, referring to claims that you should drain your iPad’s battery completely before charging it again. This was the case with Nickel-Cadmium batteries. It's not the case with Li-Ion cells, says Hollington.

Moreover, the issue of “overcharging” has been debunked as a myth during tests carried out by the publication dealing with all things Apple that start with the letter “i”.

“… there is also no reason whatsoever that you need to be concerned about plugging your iPad in to charge whenever it needs it, regardless of the actual charge level,” says the report.
