Until recently, there weren’t many options to jailbreak an iDevice on the latest firmware using a Mac. In fact, there weren’t any at all. Now there is. Courtesy of bbs.25pp.com, there’s a simple tool for both Mac and Windows that can jailbreak an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, in mere minutes, hassle free.

Available as a free download, PP supports iOS 8.0 through iOS 8.1.2 and iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPad Air 2, iPadAir, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, and iPod touch fifth-generation.

How to jailbreak iOS 8.1.x with PP

Note that the following guide does not constitute an encouragement to hack your device. We don’t recommend jailbreaks, but if you’re going to do it, at least make sure you’re doing it right. Back up your device using iTunes before you do anything, and don’t come whining back here if you brick your unit because we don’t take responsibility for anything that might go wrong during the jailbreak process.

Step 1 – On Your iPhone

On your iDevice, go to the Settings menu, access Touch ID & Passcode (or just Passcode on older devices), and turn off your Passcode Lock. Then, in the iCloud panel, switch off Find My iPhone. Finally, connect the device to your Mac or PC using the cable supplied to you by Apple. Ignore iTunes and other applications launching because you’ve connected your device and just proceed to the next step.

Step 2 – On your computer

Download PP from bbs.25pp.com and launch the application. The Mac version will prompt you to copy it to your Applications folder, but you don’t need to do that in order to use it. However (again, only for Mac users), if your security settings are strong, you’ll need to right-click the app’s icon and then choose Open.

With your device connected, hit the button in the middle of PP’s interface. Then, in the second screen, choose the button on the right-hand side. The jailbreak process will begin, and there will be a progress bar displayed in the middle of the app’s GUI. When the jailbreak process is complete, the GUI will display a green checkmark, and your phone will reboot. If everything has gone according to the plan, you’ll find Cydia installed on your iDevice, ready to be used. That’s it, you’re jailbroken!
