Apple’s recently deployed iOS 7.0.6 update is now fully supported by evasi0n7, the official iOS 7 jailbreak tool from the hacking team known as the evad3rs.

The evad3rs have released evasi0n7 1.0.6, the latest version of the team’s iOS 7 jailbreak tool that adds support for the latest firmware rolled out by Apple on Friday. To jailbreak your device on iOS 7.0.6, follow these simple instructions.

How to Jailbreak iOS 7.0.6

1. If your device is already on iOS 7.0.6 updated over-the-air (OTA), you’ll need to perform a fresh install of the firmware by using the Restore function in iTunes. Why? Because evasi0n7 doesn’t get along well with OTA updates, that’s why.

2. If your iPhone/iPod touch/iPad was updated via iTunes, then you have nothing to worry about and you can just proceed with using evasi0n7 on your device.

“Please disable the lock passcode of your iOS device before using evasi0n. It can cause issues,” the evad3rs add.

3. Back up the iPhone / iPod touch / iPad to the Mac or PC through iTunes.

4. Download evasi0n7 1.0.6 and run the application (on OS X 10.8/10.9 control-click and choose Open, if you get a security prompt).

5. Follow the on-screen instructions and wait for your device to be jailbroken.

“If the process gets stuck somewhere, it's safe to restart the program, reboot the device (if necessary by holding down Power and Home until it shuts down), and rerun the process,” the evad3rs say.

The team outlines that “[evasi0n7 is] compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.6.” iOS 6.16 is not supported, to our knowledge.
