The solution is much easier than you’d probably think

Some people claim to be having a rough time with Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor found on the iPhone 5s. For some, apparently, the fingerprint recognition isn’t exactly working as advertised.

The issue isn’t widespread, so don’t run off to the first Samsung store just yet. There’s a great deal of factors that can influence the readability of your print, and there’s an easy solution to improve Touch ID’s ability to recognize yours.

According to a mechanic working for the U.S. Army, all you have to do is scan the same print multiple times to fill up the five allotted slots. Instead of registering five different fingers, register just one, but multiple times over. This way, Touch ID will be forced into considering more faces of your print, because no single touch will be perfectly identical to the last one.

On the downside, you will only be able to unlock your phone with only one particular finger, whichever one you choose to do the trick with.
