Our feet are perhaps the one area of our body that is in the worst condition at the end of a long working day. Other than having to walk all day in often uncomfortable shoes, we also put extra strain on our feet by working out, so it’s only understandable that we do something to relieve some of the tension and pain in our tired tootsies. A ball will do just the trick for us, FitSugar tells us.

They say nothing relaxes us more than a foot massage. The downside to this is that, on the one hand, not all of us can afford seeing a professional about it (either on account of the money, or because we don’t have the time), while, on the other, giving ourselves a massage is not even half as satisfying. As such, a ball comes to save the day, FitSugar reveals, while also helping us unwind in the most pleasant way possible.

What we need for an all-time solution against sore feet is, as simple as that, a tennis ball. We must place the ball on the floor, step on it with our foot (with no socks on), and gently roll it so as to apply pressure on the areas that hurt the most. Another option is to take the ball in our hand and simply roll it on the sole of the foot, again, applying pressure on the most problematic areas. Whichever of the two we choose, this 10-minute trick should leave us relaxed and with less painful feet.

Of course, rolling a ball is not the only thing that can ease the pain and tension accumulated throughout the day, even if the most efficient. Again, if a professional masseur is not an option for one reason or another, we can always try some of the many soothing products available on the market, such as gels and creams, which are specially created to pamper our feet at the end of the day.

For those into natural treatments, a foot bath is ideal. The simplest type is made from hot water to which sea salt is added and left to dissolve. Once the feet are immersed, we should give them some time to “detoxify,” thus eliminating the pain and stress. Alternatively, other dissolvable granules are also a good choice for a relaxing foot bath.
