It’s a well-known fact that Microsoft’s new Surface Pro tablet is affected by several bugs, including one that that doesn’t allow the device to resume from sleep or standby mode.

While Microsoft is still working on a patch to fix the problem, a Surface team engineer posted a quick workaround on the official support forums, hinting that a full update addressing the bug could be released on April’s Patch Tuesday.

It all comes down to changing power settings, so users are recommended to open Device Manager, go to Network Adapters/Properties/Power Manager and check the “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” option.

Some users have already confirmed that this trick solves the problem, but Microsoft says that it’s only a temporary fix until a full patch is delivered to Surface Pro tablets.
