DICE advises players to use the Quick Match filter settings in order to play on new maps

Barely was the Back to Karkand DLC for Battlefield 3 been released on the PlayStation 3 by DICE and Electronic Arts and already issues are popping up for those who want to play on the four new maps included in the expansion.

Battlefield 3 players thoroughly enjoyed the levels in the game’s multiplayer mode, but longtime fans eagerly awaited yesterday, when the Back to Karkand DLC brought four classic maps from previous games to the current shooter on the PlayStation 3.

Sadly, it seems that its release wasn’t without problems, as after players got the DLC, either by paying for it, if they were owners of Battlefield 3’s regular version, or for free, if they got the Limited Edition, they couldn’t play on them via the regular online server browser.

DICE has spotted this issue and, until the Swedish studio can come up with a solution, it has posted a workaround that players can use to still get to play on the new maps in multiplayer matches.

"Please use the Quick Match filter settings to pick the Back to Karkand map and mode you want to play," the developer said. "Going through the server browser right now will match you up with base game maps only. We are hard at work isolating and fixing this issue and will have an ETA on this later. Stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, using Quick Match will let you select and play on any map, from the base game or Back to Karkand."

The studio also posted an update on the PlayStation 3 voice chat issues that have been plaguing Battlefield 3, saying that solutions will be included in the next update for the game, which is set to appear in the near future.

Have you encountered this problem after getting Battlefield 3’s Back to Karkand DLC on the PS3? Let’s hope it can be avoided next week when the expansion hits the PC and Xbox 360 platforms.
