HTC Sense is one of the most appealing graphical user interfaces, as it features a plethora of tweaks, apps and widgets.

Currently, HTC Sense is fully compatible with devices running Android, Brew and Windows Mobile platforms. Launched initially for Windows Mobile, HTC Sense was based on the TouchFLO 3D design.

However, once the first Android-powered smartphone to feature HTC's UI was launched on the market (HTC Hero), HTC Sense became something more than a user interface.

One of the most useful widgets included with HTC Sense is the Weather widget, which presents the weather information through Android's home screens.

The widget features a weather database which includes pre-defined locations and is supposed to meet all users' demands.

Still, for those who are living in or plan to visit locations that are not included in the HTC Sense weather location database, there's a way that you can easily add more locations.

The database can be edited using a free SQLite Database Browser. The file that needs to be edited is located in the phone at /data/data/com.htc.provider.weather/files/WP_0409WWE.db.

The whole editing process was made on an HTC EVO 4G, but the same file should be found at the same location on other Android smartphones with HTC Sense.

The file should be copied on the phone's SD card with any of the two apps: Root Explorer or QtADB. This is only possible if your phone is already rooted.

After copying the file on the memory card, plug the phone to a desktop PC and copy the file to the computer. Open the SQLite Database Browser and start editing the file. You'll have to choose Browse Data and then from the Table drop down list choose locationlist.

Scroll until you reach the end of the file and choose to create a new record. Get your location information from Accuweather and fill in the newly created record with your new location. The location information is in Accuweather format and must be selected in the browser bar.

Repeat until you have added all the locations needed. Save the new changes and replace the db file from the phone with the one from your computer and reboot the phone to take advantage of the new locations.
