How the Mighty Have Fallen: Lindsay UpdateRehab, charges, court, downfall... AGAIN! |

Lindsay Lohan is in deep s**t and, at this point, even that could be an understatement! In the saga 'Oh, how the mighty have fallen', Lindsay is by far the only starlet to ever find herself in such huge trouble. Sure, there's also Nicole Richie (who might go to jail come this August) and Paris Hilton (who also did her fair share of time in Lynwood back in June), but none of this girls were caught with cocaine in the pockets of their pants... inside a police station!
Lindsay was arrested yesterday and charged with four counts: driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, possession of cocaine and transporting a narcotic in a custodial facility. She failed both a field sobriety test and the traditional walk-the-line test, was put behind bars for an hour or so and then released on bail, set at $25,000. Since the moment she walked out of the police station, all hell broke loose!
The initial details of the arrest were a bit sketchy, so here I am, as promised, with more updates. Apparently, Lindsay was engaged in a car chase down Pico Boulevard, she being the one doing the chasing for a change. The car she was following was occupied by the mother of her former assistant (who had quit the job just hours before the arrest) and police sources say that the woman was so terrified that she called the police, after which drove straight to the nearest police station... with Lindsay hot on her heels! Yes, that practically means that LiLo drove drunk and with drugs on her straight into the police parking lot! It takes a genius to do that, that much is for sure!
After the arrest and the posting of the bail, Lindsay went MIA. Some speculate that she has already entered another rehab facility (not named in the media, but surely not Wonderland or Promises), where she is trying to overcome her relapse into drugs and alcohol. Both her parents, Dina and Michael, have released statements in which they state their daughter is getting the best of help. However, Dina still made a point of partly blaming the media for what happened, saying 'I am sick over this. My children, my family, we are like prisoners in our own home because paparazzi [are stalking us] outside [our] home.' Remember, this is the same woman who took TV cameras in her daughter's room in rehab, while all the time asking for 'privacy'!
Lindsay's attorney also issued a statement in which she pointed out the obvious, namely, that Lindsay had a relapse into her addictions: 'Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease. Since Lindsay transitioned to outpatient care, she has been monitored on a SCRAM bracelet and tested daily in order to support her sobriety. Unfortunately, late yesterday I was informed that Lindsay had relapsed. The bracelet has now been removed. She is safe, out of custody and presently receiving medical care.' However, this fails to explain why she was also doing the driving if she was accompanied by three other persons who hitched a ride with her!
In short, this is Lohan's second DUI bust! Combining these two charges with that of possession and driving on a suspended license, a judge could sentence her (especially since both arrests occurred within such short distance of each other) to a maximum of six years in jail. If she gets the Paris Hilton treatment, that could mean a couple of months in a VIP (pardon me, special treatment) cell. Either way, things are not looking good for the actress and the proverbial caca has just hit the fans! Keep you posted with more.
