SDK Simulator allows developers to catch a glimpse of the bigger picture

Apple is yet to deploy iOS 7 on iPads, but an industrious Australian blogger has managed to load up the available IPSW in Xcode’s iPad simulator to give us an idea of how the software will look on tablets.

Sonny Dickson, a reliable source of Apple tidbits, decided he wouldn’t wait for Apple to seed the iPad-native iOS 7 build, so he took matters into his own hands, fired up Xcode, and used the iPad Simulator app to display the contents of the iPhone/iPod touch IPSW from Apple.

The result is what you can see in the gallery below. Thanks to the bigger screen real estate, most apps look a lot cleaner. A good example is Maps, which uses the most of the iPad’s big display.

Control Center isn’t too shabby either. Whereas the feature takes up most of an iPhone’s screen, on iPad it just covers 10 percent of the display.
