How About a Windows Mobile Unlocked iPhone?

- It comes with TouchFLO-like interface

By: Florin Troaca, Communications News Editor

iPhone clones are not uncommon, especially those produced in China, which look almost exactly like Apple's handset but have inferior quality, inferior features and, obviously, cheaper prices.
Probably the most expensive iPhone wannabe handset up to date is the new DaXian X999, a device that can be bought for $369 (250 Euros).

What's interesting about this handset is that it combines iPhone's look (a perfect copy I might say) with Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional and a 3D Cube menu interface very similar to the TouchFLO platform invented by HTC and successfully used in HTC Touch.

Although the available pictures show DaXian X999 running on a Chinese interface, the phone will actually support only English as its main language, so it can be used by anyone.

On the hardware side, DaXian X999 offers a 3.2 single-touch display with a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, a TI OMAP 850 CPU at 200 MHz (the same processor is packed in HTC Touch), 128 MB of RAM, 1GB Transflash/TF memory card and a 2 Megapixel camera with macro and video recording. The handset also provides dynamic screen sensors: automatic orientation sensor / accelerometer ( rotates the screen when you physically rotate the phone), automatic backlight adjustment and face proximity sensor.

Moreover, adventurous users that want to have DaXian X999 will get Bluetooth connectivity, USB, ActiveSync, E-map (external GPS receiver is required), Microsoft Office Mobile software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Video player (with support for 3GP, MP4, AVI, ASF, WMV and RM), Music player, WAP, Handwriting recognition, Voice recorder, Handsfree, Java and built-in games. The phone works on GSM networks and should provide a talk-time of 240-360 minutes and a stand-by time of 150-340 hours.

So, wanna buy yourself a new and unlocked "Windows Mobile HTC iPhone"? Visit this website and hope that the handset proves to be what you want it to be.
