Were you ever involved in a car accident where you weren't able to prove the fact that you were completely innocent (if that was the case),
and you've ended up paying a large sum for the damages? Well, if you were involved in such a situation, or simply want to avoid it, now there's a relatively simple solution available on the market, namely the TruScene TS-1L camera.
This special device is a single lens camera unit, internally mounted on the front windscreen (or on the rear screen, as desired), powered by the vehicle battery and connected to the vehicle ignition. Moreover, it features a GPS (Global Positioning System) integrated into the units, thus allowing for the location of the footage to be embedded onto the clip as well as the time.
The images are recorded in memory loops. The memory loops (each approx. 30 seconds) are continuously recorded over by new images, to save storage space, and when the vehicle is involved in an accident that results in a pre-determined g-force, then a g-force motion sensor is activated and the video image is transferred to non-volatile memory for storage and download at a later moment.
Here are some of the most important technical and commercial features of this very useful device, as presented by the manufacturer:
- Dimensions: 12.5cm x 7cm x 5cm;
- Full color;
- VGA resolution;
- 2.54 cm OLED color screen;
- Water resistant;
- Automatic and manual save mode;
- GPS time, date and location overlay;
- Encrypted data;
- USB port.
