Fends off cellphone radiation

Cellphone radiation is still a highly debated subject, as manufacturers produce new scientific studies to prove that it's not dangerous to carry your cellphone right next to sensitive body areas, and independent doctors say it's better to protect yourself against all kinds of radiations.

The truth is the first people to experiment with radioactivity thought it was safe. A good example of cellphone radiation fear are the antennas and the signal amplifiers used by the mobile operators, mounted on every tall building in the country, except for their headquarters.

Recently, a Swiss garb maker came up with an interesting idea. Since most people wear the cellphone in their pants pockets, usually next to the crotch, shouldn't we be protecting our "assets" from potentially harmful radiation coming from the mobile?

Isabodyweart designed a new kind of underwear, called the Slipways, to fend off the radiation. They are made with threads of silver, which, according to the manufacturer, protect the "cojones" from irradiation.

They even suggest that phone calls originated within the confines of your new underwear simply won't connect. They didn't say anything about whether you can receive calls while the phone is in your pocket. If you can't, the wonder underwear isn't that effective, right?

Reportedly, 4,000 pairs have been created so far, and for folks willing to give these a try and fill out a survey, the first 500 of you to email and request one will seemingly have one sent out for free. There's no word on when you can expect the Slipways to hit the market, but they should sell for CHF29.90 ($24) a piece when retailers start stocking.

Apart from the actually ridiculous name, Slipways, some people may be discouraged from buying this product, since homeless people wearing thin foils to protect them from alien invasions and even the Apocalypse, are not exactly considered the wisest in the world...
