Energizer is one of the world's best known battery manufacturers and, over time, has launched quite a large number of interesting products, including the Energi To Go line of portable chargers. And since this series already included a model specially designed for mobile phones, the company has decided to come up with one dedicated to the world's most popular portable music
player, the iPod, and launched the Energizer Energi To GO Portable Power For iPod, a device that grants users more time to listen to their favorite songs.

According to the company's statement, the Energizer Energi To Go Portable Power for iPod is the first iPod charger to combine the power of Energizer e2 Lithium AA batteries and the portability of a compact, cord-free design. The device sports a patented intelligent control chip that maximizes power transfer to the iPod, while its special flip design allows iPod owners to use it as a stand while charging, as well as fold it for easy storage.

As expected, the Portable Power for iPod delivers quite a lot of extra listening time for iPod users. In testing with Energizer e2 Lithium AA batteries, the charger provided more than 46 hours of music playback on the iPod nano and more than 32 hours of music playback on the iPod with video. Moreover, the new charging system works with the most popular iPod models available on the market, as it features a licensed Apple iPod tip and is adjustable so that it's compatible with fourth-and fifth-generation iPods, iPod nano and iPod mini.

"At Energizer, we're always trying to respond to consumers' needs for portable power," said Mike Rivard, Energizer General Manager, New Products about the company's latest development. "With the new Energizer Energi To Go Portable Power for iPod, you'll know that whether you're on a plane, at a campground, or at any other location without a power outlet, your music will keep going. And it features the kind of design that iPod owners appreciate and expect."

The new Energizer Energi To Go iPod Portable Power Source will hit the shelves in the US around October and will retail for just around $29.99, the customers getting the charger and two Energizer e2 Lithium AA batteries in the package, which is a pretty sweet deal, if you ask me.
