A recent study has revealed just how popular mobile entertainment can be

Almost three quarters of mobile phone users from US and UK declare themselves to be unsatisfied with the entertainment content provided by their mobile phones.

Studies have showed that handset users consider that the best source of mobile entertainment is brought by Mobile TV. This makes almost 40 percent from all satisfaction rates expressed by Americans.

On the next step we have music downloads, with more than 30 percent. It is only normal to find this source of entertainment among the most appreciated ones, as the number of mobile phones which come with integrated MP3 players has considerably increased in the last years. Even more, there are many Walkman devices, not only from Sony Ericsson that are catching ground towards a large development.

Other entertainment sources are those provided by mobile chat, information services, as well as wallpaper and ringtone download. More than half of UK and US cellular owners declare that there is a high chance of them buying such products.

Patrick Parodi, Global Chair, MEF stresses on the evolution that mobile entertainment is expected to make. "There will inevitably be some growing pains as mobile entertainment moves from an emerging market to an established media and entertainment channel. However, the industry must collaborate to focus on providing a seamless user experience, boosting subscriber satisfaction and encouraging mass adoption".

One more thing that this recent study has revealed is that reliability between mobile entertainment and the promoting it receives is still at a low level. It seems that handset users are not as receptive as they are expected to be on this type of advertising.

The high interest in finding the best entertainment type for mobile phones comes from the fact that this field has a high potential for profit, if properly exploited. There are still many expectations that need to be filled and even more improvements to be brought to current services.
