As silly as it gets!

Now, that's dumb indeed. Why Lobie is, of course. 'WTF is this Lobie?', you - music fans - might ask. Well, Lobie is one stupid contraption designed especially for those people who - brace yourselves really good - want to listen to music using earbud headphones but without having the earbuds inserted in their ear!

Jesus Christ, people! This is like someone who wants to be a diver but does not want to touch the water. If you're so afraid that you might lose your hearing, then leave aside the headphones for good, and everything will be just OK! Earbuds are made (DOH!) to be placed IN your ears; they're not made to be carried on the shoulder, not for any other stupid thing you might think of.

Now, "IN" means "inside", right? Or at least this is what I've learned so far. Why in God's name would someone want to listen to music using earbuds (which, once more - are designed to be used inside the ear) while not actually having them in their ears?

A lot of top-notch audio gear manufacturers are tormenting their engineers to create headphones with clearer, purer sound, that would offer you a sonic response closer to the natural one; some headsets even reach around $300 and their shape has been carefully and medically engineered to offer optimal comfort and isolation from the ambient noise when placed in the ear.

And you, what do you do? Pay some 12 bucks to have these silly "soft cushioning gel" dumb things on you ears so that all the efforts and hard work of teams at Shure or AKG would eventually be thrown down the drain because your high-end headset will sound just like a pair of $0.99 headphones.

No less than 7 vivid colors are just waiting for you to crap out your sound in ways you've never thought possible. Now, the dumbest thing of them all: first of all, common earbuds are either not that comfortable or you fear for your health, or both at the same time. Here's what the Lobie site says, as one of its customers puts it: "I also like to go sleep listening to music and Lobies feel good when I lay my head on my pillow." So you fear that earbuds will damage your hearing and yet you go to sleep listening to headphones? Gee-Zus!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
