Vivendi Games received great appreciation from gamers everywhere with the "Surviving High School" franchise. Because of this, it was just about time for the launch of a new game based on the old concept, but with several slight differences.

Surviving Hollywood is just an expansion of the gaming concept
found in the previous game released by Vivendi. It is based on the glamor of the movie entertainment industry and allows players to play the role of a new star. All the steps towards fame and celebrity are met during the game as to make ascension as real as possible.

Players have to make decision based on specific situations that the Hollywood life creates. Evolution is the word which best represents the concept of this mobile game. Players start off as waiters and have to work their way up to the star status. In order to do this, they take part in auditions, go to clubbing parties and also manage to keep their jobs in order to survive.

One interesting aspect about this game is that Surviving Hollywood periodically updates on the Internet. This means that the player will be provided with new situations in which they have to make choices.

"Every week, Surviving Hollywood will bring a new dose of life in the celebrity capital of the world to aspiring 'A-listers' around the country, allowing them to try their hand at what it takes to become a star", said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile.

"In developing this title we were committed to delivering a truly engaging and enjoyable experience that outshines even the brightest Hollywood star", said liver Miao, general manager of Vivendi Games Mobile's Centerscore Studio. Moreover, it "takes our popular blend of mobile-friendly gameplay and fresh episodic content to the next level", he further commented.

Surviving Hollywood will be available for purchase in North America starting with July this year.

I fount the game "surviving Hollywood" to be quite addictive and fun, however I must express some disappointment in the level of free will that is allowed in the game.

Perhaps I don't completely understand the concept of role playing games but there were a couple times in the game (which I've played for about 8 hours up to this point) where I was disappointed at the limited options available. A couple for instance a couple of things I wanted to do but weren't able to were:

Be nicer to Chelsea. She is mean but for the purpose of the game, if it is a role playing game I would have chosen to be nice to her.

Why can't you dump mike. Mike was very selfish to leave the main character at such a difficult time for her and I wanted to get him out of the picture, yet if you try to ignore him you start to lose the game by getting very stressed out and thought bubbles will automatically say things like "I miss him," "I can't believe I didn't ask his where he was" and such and such. My question is why do I care??

I think Mike should have the realistic option to get together with the sister of the guy that invited him to stay with them in Paris.

I think there should be more alternate routes to take in the game. I would liked to have had the chance to pursue roles involving Chelsea and Jeff, or the main character and Tony. It seems a lot of the relationships are automatically predetermined which I think is very unfortunate.

It would also be interesting if you could choose to pursue same sex relationships, as it can appeal to more people who would play the game. After all, it is Hollywood!

I agree with what you're saying. Its disappointing that you can't choose to pursue other alternatives. I tried to get the main character to date tony, but obviously all the movements are predetermined.

I wish they could make it with more free will, but since the episodes come out once a week it would be nearly impossible. Since they are predetermined its much easier to get each new episode to make sense.

I think that Surviving Hollywood is a highly addicting game. I sit in my room literally hours on end playing it. Tony is such a sweet guy to your character. I'm fine with the game being predetermined, it's just entertaining. I don't like Mike, he's a jerk. (Well at least he is in last week's episode, The Welcome Party.) I can't wait to see what happens to Claude in this Friday's episode.

I LOVE THIS GAME!!! I started playing about 10 months ago and can barely wait for the new episodes to come out! I'm not very good at the main game, but i rock the new episodes.

I hate that in Chapter 1, Sallie is trying to get with Tony, and it seems as if he likes her too, but the game, MAKES him hook up with Iris in Hawaii.
