Controversial and outspoken Kelly Osbourne has long struggled to keep her weight in check. In the past, the only times when she admittedly managed to drop some pounds was when she was addicted to drugs, had a condition that prevented her from holding food down or went on a drastic diet. Now that she’s on Dancing With the Stars, she’s slim, beautiful, happy and, most important, healthy at last, she says in her column for Closer magazine.

Training for the dances that have to be performed in front of the panel of judges and live audience with each edition of the show is no small thing, as Kelly herself has learned. So far, she’s managed to drop about seven kg in less than a month, being now a perfect, healthy 8 in dress size. In fact, Kelly says the only time before she was this slim was when she was on drugs, so losing weight the traditional way, by sweating it off, is, undeniably, the healthier and risk-free alternative.

“I’m a size 8 now since losing more than a stone from all the dance training. I’ve been that small before, but it was when I was taking drugs and was really unhealthy. Now I’m so fit and even my skin looks better – I think it’s from all the sweating!” Kelly gushes for Closer. However, her work is not done yet: she’s set for herself the goal of being in top shape, not just slimmer, so this means the road is still long ahead of her. “I’m not loving my upper arms to be honest – I think I’ll start doing some weights to tone them up.” she says.

As we also reported a short while back, Kelly credits the amount of training she does for Dancing With the Stars with losing the extra weight. Of course, her diet too has changed (she now eats healthier because she needs energy to make it through the long rehearsals), but it’s the many hours spent in the dance studio and a few Pilates classes that have helped her get her body in shape.

“I’ve almost lost a full stone already, I’m so excited! By the end of it I’ll be a lean, mean machine. It’s so amazing, I’ve tried so many stupid fad diets to try to lose weight, when all I needed to do was start dancing. My whole life has changed so much since Dancing With The Stars. I’ve never felt so healthy. Pilates is amazing, my posture is so much better and I’m even starting to get muscles on my tummy – it’s incredible. I’ve become totally obsessed with Pilates, everyone should try it.” Kelly was saying a while ago.
