Remember "Back to the future II" the movie? I believe a lot of kids wanted a floating skateboard ever since. I never saw another one like that, but I give you this…in fact, Future Horizons presents this.

The "Hoverboard" could be the next giant step in the skateboard industry, as obstacle, pool, ramp, or rail while another skater is already skating it are becoming overcrowded and a little bit
boring.

So, dear "skate freek", the "hoverboard" uses the hovercraft technology to lift up to 200 lb rider inch above the ground, just the kind of magic David Blaine performs on his street numbers. Besides that, a 6 horsepower 4-stroke gasoline engine spins the multi bladed propeller to force air under the craft, so this damn cool gizmo is no toy at all.

I bet all the "skate scavenger" out there who got tired of destroying his/her new pair of skates every week will be happy to know that they no longer have to scavenger around for another pair, as this offers them the chance of having a never worn-out pair.

Regarding the design, it features a special flexible skirt that acts pretty much like an airbag, to help trap air under the craft. The craft hovers best over smooth surfaces, so no extreme sick K-grinds are recommended.

Surprisingly, the company behind Hoverboards is designing them since 1997, but only now did they decide to sell the concept to other heavy brands in the industry, so we're likely to see one of those on our Skate Park.

According to Future Horizons, the plans are easy to follow and a single device can be built for under 500 bucks a pop, including the engine. I don't understand why they sell one for about 9000 bucks. Any way, the board can hover forward, and turn left and right. Its hand held controls are used to steer and change the speed. Not to mention it can be built in less than 36 hours depending on your skill level.

However, after seeing a couple of videos with this baby rolling on the streets I have to say the noise it makes is insanely annoying, it looks like it needs a lot of improvements. Still, it's a major step forward for skate-boasters.

Here'a a sample of the no-wheeled Hoverboard:

I wonder if it goes on water too? Still, too noisy!
