Apple's Willowbrook Mall retail store is set to open its doors this Saturday, June 7, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Apple itself has made it official on its website, saying it will be a Grand Opening. This means customers will at least nab a few giveaway items, although the company seems to have "forgotten" to mention what those might be.

"Apple has announced that the grand opening of the Willowbrook Mall (Houston) retail store will be this Saturday at 10 a.m. The store will be the sixth in the region and the 13th in the state," the people handling news and information about Apple's stores are reporting. The same source explains that, although Apple has stopped mentioning the grand opening T-shirts give-away on store web pages, "the tradition will continue" nonetheless.

The 4.1 million residents of the Houston (Tex.) metro area were last privy to an Apple store opening in the summer of 2007, when the Baybrook Mall store was inaugurated on the southeast side. The mall is mostly visited by "high-income residents," according to ifoAppleStore, but it also serves NASA, ARCO, Philips Chemical, The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, Exxon Mobil and the University of Houston-Clear Lake.

The sixth such store in the Houston metro area is opening its doors this Saturday. The exact address is 2000 Willowbrook Dr Houston, TX 77070 (281) 571-4400.

Store hours are as follows: - Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Sat: 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. - Sun: 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

For the time being, there are no scheduled Workshops and Events at the Houston, Willowbrook Mall Apple Store, but you can make a reservation for One to One Personal Training, Personal Shopping, a meet up with one of Apple's most tech-savvy employees at the Genius Bar, get information on Youth Programs and Business opportunities, and more.
