The development team at Bungie is announcing that the launch of the House of Wolves expansion for Destiny has been a very successful one for the company, with more activity in the social shooter than during the Christmas period of 2014.

The Weekly Update explains that 11 billion Glimmer was given out by the Awoken Queen during the first day of availability, on May 19, and that 105 million Engrams were ready for decryption during the same period.

Bungie adds, "As of 11AM on the third day of fighting, Skolas has been captured almost 900,000 times and evicted from the Prison of Elders with extreme prejudice over 9,000 times."

The studio is also confirming that the new Trials of Osiris game mode for House of Wolves will go live at 10 AM Pacific Time on Friday, May 22, allowing gamers to get into a new type of Player versus Player engagements that will come with their own unique set of rewards.

Bungie is also inviting five players to take part in the new experience and fight on behalf of a charity, with a prize cash offered by the company to the one who performs best.

The list for the Trials of Osiris challenge includes LacedUpLauren fighting for Child's Play, Ms5000Watts fighting for Ronald McDonald House Charities, TripleWRECK fighting for Arc of Yates, and Fizzor fighting for Gamers Outreach.

House of Wolves might not be the only Destiny expansion to arrive in 2015

Bungie is saying that, at the moment, the focus is on making sure that all new content works as it was intended and all bugs the community notices are fixed quickly.

House of Wolves introduces the above mentioned Trials of Osiris mode, but also the Prison of Elders experience and a range of items that Guardians can use to improve the capabilities.

Rumors are saying that another expansion for Destiny, called The Taken King, is scheduled to arrive at some point in the fall, with an entirely new area for gamers to explore and other mechanical tweaks.

Bungie has also been talking about another end-game raid for the social shooter, which is in development and might arrive for free for the community in the coming weeks.
