The auto industry is scaling up efforts to go greener. Recyclable car parts can be used in many ways, but two American architects take these pieces and exploit them in an ingenious, unconventional way, while building an eco-friendly house in Berkeley, California.

Karl Wanaselja has worked in partnership with Cate Leger to launch this amazing alternative to common households. The main idea was to revolutionize “trump recycling,” Autobloggreen informs.

They have managed to collect an impressive amount of components from local junk yards and give them a new purpose. Most of the items belong to no-longer-needed Dodge Caravans.

Wanaselja and Leger used almost anything they could get their hands on: from Caravan side windows to car roofs. The house looks amazing and the developers have all it takes to start a new green trend.

The auto industry seems to welcome their initiative, since most of the manufacturers say their new vehicles are made of up to 90% recyclable parts.
