They're finally taking major action against hackers!

The Interpol finally thought that it would be a nice idea to properly assess cyber-threats. I admit that of all the law enforcers, the Interpol has been fighting the most against cyber-crime, but it sure did take them a lot to figure out that it would be great if they deployed global and regional anti-crime centers to fight web-based criminal activity. I sure hope that this works. I don't think they'll do too much damage to the hacker society, because they can only deploy hundreds of cyber-cops in a region, while - in certain areas - there are thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands hackers, pirates and malicious users.

But wait! This idea didn't just came to them out of the blue; it all happened after the security conference in New Delhi. Representatives from 37 countries had been present and security software developers as well. Clearly, the Internet is the place where criminals have the upper hand; this is mainly because people don't know too much about security, but improper law enforcement has its faults as well.

This new measure is "an ambitious idea, but we are determined to turn (it) into a reality because the problem is too big for even G-8 and the Council of Europe" stated Interpol Secretary-General Ronald K. Noble, as the Associated Press informs.

In my opinion, the best thing to do is get lots and lost of skilled men and women on this matter. It is important that policemen just as skilled as the black-hatters that plague us get involved in this. The initiative came a little bit late, but it's good that it came, anyway. I'd like them to treat cyber-crime in the same way they do with real-life crime, because it's just as important. Moreover, I honestly hope that this will take down cyber-crime rates, because if the Interpol can't solve the problem - who can?
