Great country music from the American Idol winner

Carrie Underwood, the country singing sensation that won the fourth edition of American Idol, will soon be back with a new album, called "Carnival Ride". And even though a lot has been said about the 23-year old who went from college to the big stage, one thing is for sure: she has got plenty of talent. It was said that the craved title of "American Idol" couldn't have gone to a more deserving young woman. Most people agree on that, after having had time to observe Carrie in the spotlight after her win. Her talent, for once, is unquestioned, and she quickly became very much aware of the fact that winning the popular competition was not the end, but rather the beginning of a long road for her, a jump-start for a very distinguished singing career in country music.

It is a wise move to capitalize on the amount of public sympathy and goodwill she's received in the last years and after the first album, Some Hearts, spent thirty out of ninety weeks in

the top ten of the U.S. Billboard 200. Some Hearts was also the most requested album of the 2006 Billboard chart year, which was a first for any American Idol winner. With over 5.8 million sales, Some Hearts became the best-selling debut album in the U.S. since Evanescence launched Fallen in 2003. And if that was not enough, Carrie also took home a whole bunch of awards, including two Grammy awards for "Best New Artist" and "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" in 2007.

All this makes us look forward to going on a "Carnival Ride" with her starting October 23rd, all the more so since her first release from her new album, So Small, released a month ago, is already in the US Top 10. And it sure sounds like Carrie has lost none of the attributes that made her a star. She has a strong voice, charisma and on top of all that she's incredibly sweet and has a natural sexy freshness about her that helps make her music relatable and very enjoyable. And if you're a guy, you'll be happy to know this beauty is still single and pretty much in search of the perfect man - and has publicly confessed that she's not very good at buying underwear. Hmmm. Poor girl. So what are you waiting for?
