This may become a bestselling guitar gimmick

Little was innovated in what guitar FX-ing is about and when I say so I am not speaking about how MIDI influenced guitar sound or about how computers changed the way playing is done nowadays. I am speaking about classic stompbox operation, with ordinary effect pedals such as wah, tremolo, phasers and so many more.

Since the pneumatic controls over some parameters in either analog or digital/MIDI nothing came out so as to revolutionize or significantly change pedal-operation. Until now... The Hot Hand will definitely be the guitar-showmen's best friend. Not only will it allow you to add more FX to your sound and vary the parameters but you can actually change the way your show is built. Hot Hand simply opens a sea of opportunities relying on individual imagination and creativity.

The principle is dead-simple: the player attaches a wireless transmitter to his finger, pretty much like a bluetooth ring. The "ring" communicates via wireless channels with the wireless adapter on the special pedal boards and by sensing the hand movement, various pre-defined parameters are tweaked resulting in a sound modulation.

Using your guitar with one or both the dedicated pedals, your possibilities are unlimited as far as sound modulation is concerned. No matter if using the Wah or the Phaser/Flanger, you'll be amazed what you can do. Actually, the Hot Hand acts like a third hand: the flesh-hands are playing the guitar while the movement of one of them controls some other effects.

Now just think a bit about what you could do when combining playing the guitar, blowing in a pneumatic-command effect box, using your foot for working on a different effect AND shaking your Hot Hand! As far as the Phaser/Flanger module is concerned it sports 4 different controllable parameters such as Hot Hand Motion Sensor control, low frequency oscillator (LFO), sequencer, or envelope follower.

The Hot Hand will definitely be one coveted system for many players, especially if Source Audio will decide to make other floor effects compatible with the actual system. The wireless FX cost $434 each while the wired solution (also available) is only $299. The wireless adapter runs for $150. This may look like some big money for 2 pedals but the hand-controlled FX-ing is truly one significant step ahead in guitar history.
