Jeremy Meeks probably never imagined he’d become the hottest thug online when he got arrested last week on weapons and street terrorism charges. His mugshot on the official Facebook page of the Stockton Police Department in California went viral in hours, earning him the nickname of Dreamy McMug Shot.

As in, tens of thousands of women who saw his photo found him to be the most irresistible, handsome, absolutely delicious bad boy they had ever set their eyes on, so handsome that some even went on to describe in detail the kind of things they’d let him do to them, many of which are probably not even legal.

As the frenzy for the “hot criminal” swept the net, his mother thought she’d capitalize on it by setting up a donations page on a fundraising website because, apparently, even when they’re so unspeakably handsome (if he’s your type), criminals still have to make bail.

Her efforts so far have not paid off, but not all hope is lost for Jeremy. As his mother continues to tell whoever will listen that he’s no longer a gangster and that he’s actually a good boy who’s being stereotyped because of his old (gang) tattoos, Jeremy’s quota is on the rise.

TMZ reports that various modeling agencies are interested in signing him because, apparently, bad boys are all the rage these days. Blaze Models is one of the agencies looking to get Meeks on a modeling contract, saying “they can book Meeks with high-end fashion houses – like Versace and Armani – and he could rake in $15 - $30K [€11,014-€22,031] a month.”

Imagine the irony in that.

A rep for the agency tells the celebrity e-zine that “gangster models” are very much in demand, so Meeks would fit right in, especially with his teardrop tattoo. The only problem would be his neck Northside Gangster Crips ink, but that can be covered up either with makeup or in post-production.

Another agency is equally eager to land Meeks on a contract, so this is really a thing.

However, as much as Meeks’ female admirers would love to see him in the pages of magazines, on billboards and in every other media, modeling the latest from big fashion houses, for now, they will have to settle for those memes that have been popping up online.

As TMZ puts it, Meeks is being held on a $900,000 (€660,870) bail that his family can’t possibly pay and, even if they do, he’s being charged with some serious stuff. This isn’t his first arrest either so, with a track history of violent acts, it doesn’t look like he’ll be out any time soon to start modeling.

On a related note, Meeks is married and has a son with his wife. The wife is said to be furious at the kind of attention her husband is getting from women online because of the mugshot, though we’re guessing she’ll be less so if this lands him a successful modeling contract.
