One of the most unexpected viral stars of last year was hot criminal Jeremy Meeks, aka Dreamy McThug, whose mugshot was posted on Facebook by the arresting police department and made all the ladies want to forget that he was being held on gang and gun-related charges.

Meeks is now serving time in a federal prison in Nevada, but he’s hoping for an early November release, on good behavior. When he’s out, he’ll go straight to work: he is now officially a model and a budding actor.

30-year-old gets his big break

Shortly after Meeks’ arrest, even before he stood trial and was found guilty of all charges, including parole violation, buzz started online that he was so incredibly handsome that he could easily get a job as a model.

In fact, voices were saying, he should consider that option, regardless of whether he was found guilty or not. Meeks was of the same mind as his female admirers, because he signed with a showbiz manager even before he was sentenced.

At the time, he was still hoping he might walk.

All plans were put on hold when he was sentenced to federal prison, but Meeks hasn’t been idling away behind bars: he is now officially signed with White Cross Management, which will see to him getting modeling and acting jobs once he’s a free man again.

The deal is confirmed by a White Cross publicist to People Magazine. Meeks, on the other hand, told ABC News a few days ago that he was hoping for an early release.

Something to look forward to

In the meantime, Meeks is keeping busy, working on his already buff body and making plans for the future. He is obviously overjoyed at being able to provide for his family, and to turn something as negative as his most recent arrest into a positive.

He maintains he’s not a gangster despite the gangster ink on his body, particularly the teardrop on his cheek and the “NC” on his neck, and that he’s not a violent man. He claims his latest arrest was more of a misunderstanding than confirmation that he’s gone back to his past criminal ways.

“I’m in a place where I will be able to provide for my family and really change my life,” he says. “I never thought that everyone in the world would recognize me for my looks, so I feel extremely blessed and very thankful.”

“I eat healthy. I do a lot of push-ups, pull-ups, dips, burpees, and I stay very active,” he continues.

Perhaps Meeks’ biggest regret right now is that FX’s hit series “Sons of Anarchy” wrapped after 7 seasons before he got the chance to land a recurring role or a cameo.
